I took over PPE purchasing for a 200-person industrial services company in 2020. - The unquantifiable one. If a lanyard fails on an edge and someone gets hurt, the cost is not a number on a spreadsheet.

A harness and lanyard can't prevent a fall from starting; they can only reduce the consequence. A claim like that tells me the seller is more interested in confidence than in safety.
An OSHA violation can cost thousands of dollars, but the fine is only the beginning. Contractors can lose clients when their safety record comes under scrutiny. The hidden cost is trust.
What I Do Now
